Description
2 Saturdays: June 1, 15 | 10 am - 3:30 pm
Learn to transfer and apply the botanical illustration knowledge you have already gained to the amazingly versatile medium of colored pencil with botanical artist, Gail Goodrich Harwood. In session one, we will explore the properties of Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils and effects using different substrates. Students will practice techniques of layering, blending, burnishing, and edge clean-up while rendering small botanical subjects. In session two, we will render a completed work from color-matching to under-drawing, to layering, burnishing, and finishing. After this introductory course, students will be prepared for the next level of colored pencil skill-building in a future course, including learning about resists, incising, and other techniques such as layering watercolor and colored pencil.
Fees: Member $132, Non-Member $158
All programs are subject to change. Pre-registration through our website is required.
